Collections

Creating a collection and folder, saving a request into it, editing it, and opening the import dialog. Narrated, with sound. The dark and light versions follow the site's theme.

Saved requests live in collections in the client’s side panel, under the Collections tab next to History, Docs and Builder. Folders nest up to 8 levels.

  • Save (or Ctrl/⌘ + S) writes the active tab into a collection and links the tab to it.
  • A linked tab shows a dot (●) when it differs from the saved request. Save updates the saved item.
  • Save as… (command palette) always asks where.

Select a request and press Open (or Enter). A request already open in a tab is focused instead of duplicated. Rename (F2), duplicate, move up or down and delete are on the selected row. A deleted item can be restored with Undo for 10 seconds, and deleting an item unlinks any tab that was open on it.

  • Import: Postman v2.1, Insomnia v4 and this extension’s own files. Nested folders are kept; a Postman variable[] or an Insomnia environment can be imported as an environment. Scripts are counted in the summary but never imported. Requests that aren’t GraphQL are skipped.
  • Export: one collection as a .json file. Header values are written empty unless they are only a {{placeholder}}; tick Include secrets to keep them. Query text, variables and endpoints are exported as they are, so keep secrets in environments.

50 collections, 2,000 items each, and about 3 MB of storage in total.

Show Collections, New collection, Save to collection, Save as… and Open request: <collection / folder / name>.
