Install Wireglass

Wireglass is a Chrome extension (Manifest V3). It runs entirely in your browser and needs no account.

Load it in Chrome

1. Get the extension package and unzip it. You should have a folder that contains a manifest.json.
2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome.
3. Turn on Developer mode, in the top right corner.
4. Click Load unpacked, and choose the folder from step 1.
5. Optional: click the puzzle icon in the toolbar, and pin Wireglass so that it is always one click away.

Wireglass now appears in your extensions list. Chrome keeps it loaded between restarts, and you can turn it off or remove it there at any time.

Open it

• Client: click the Wireglass icon in the toolbar. The full-tab client opens, and it is where you write and run queries.
• DevTools panel: open DevTools (F12) on any page and choose the Wireglass tab. It has three views: Traffic, Client and Mocks.

Permissions

Wireglass asks to run on all sites so that the DevTools panel can capture a page’s GraphQL traffic and apply mocks. It sends nothing anywhere except the requests that you run yourself. See Privacy and security.
